Booking & Availability

  • You can book directly through our website or contact us via email. We’ll guide you through selecting the ideal charter experience and confirm availability before securing your reservation.

  • We recommend booking 2–4 weeks in advance for day charters and 1–3 months in advance for peak summer dates, especially weekends and holidays.

  • Yes—if availability allows. We occasionally have openings within a few days, so we encourage you to reach out.

  • Yes, for all private charter bookings we require 25% upon booking with the remaining balance due 1 week prior to your sail date.

  • Our 2-hour public sail schedule is released on a rolling 2-week basis throughout the season, beginning in mid-May.

    We recommend checking back regularly, as new dates are added continuously and often fill quickly. If you’re planning ahead or visiting from out of town, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to guide you toward the best timing based on your visit.

Charter Experience

  • Each charter includes:

    • A licensed captain and professional crew

    • A fully private yacht experience

    • Cushioned deck seating and shaded areas

    • Access to 3 bathrooms below deck

    • A complimentary charcuterie board and beverage

    Optional enhancements such as curated catering, champagne service, and special occasion coordination can be arranged.

    • Day Charters: Up to 12 guests

    • Overnight Charters: Up to 6 guests across 3 private staterooms

  • Each sail is tailored to your group, but may include:

    • A sail through Narragansett Bay taking in Newport’s iconic coastline

    • Time to relax, celebrate, enjoy a meal, or swim

  • Yes—sunset charters are among our most requested experiences and offer a particularly beautiful, golden-hour atmosphere on the water.

Food & Beverage

  • Yes! You are welcome to bring your own provisions and alcohol, or we are happy to coordinate catering and beverages on your behalf. A complimentary charcuterie board and one beverage per guest is offered for each sail.

  • Yes. We can arrange elevated, locally inspired catering and curated beverage service upon request.

  • Yes. Guests 21+ are welcome to bring and enjoy alcohol responsibly.

Weather & Conditions

  • Your safety and comfort are our priority. If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable for sailing, we will work with you to reschedule or provide a refund if the sail is cancelled.

  • Often, yes. New England weather can shift beautifully throughout the day, and light overcast conditions can still make for a memorable experience. We will be sure to stay in touch with you if weather predictions are calling for inclement weather on the date of your sail.

Logistics

  • Boarding takes place via launch service at Oldport Marine Services in downtown Newport, located at 1 Sayer’s Wharf in Newport Harbor.

    If you are arriving by car and walking to the harbor:

    Walking Directions from Parking in Town

    • Park near America’s Cup Avenue or the Newport Visitor Center parking garage (both are a short, easy walk)

    • Walk toward the waterfront and look for The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar

    • Enter the parking lot beside The Mooring restaurant (this is Sayer’s Wharf)

    • Walk down toward the water—you’ll see the dock area and launch boats

    Once you arrive:

    • Check in with the dock staff at Oldport Marine

    • You will be transported by launch boat out to Tree of Life on her mooring

  • Newport parking can be limited in peak season, so we recommend allowing a bit of extra time to arrive and walk to the harbor.

    • The lot directly at The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar

      • Located right at Sayer’s Wharf (where you’ll board)

      • Privately operated and very convenient, though it can fill quickly and may be higher priced

    Best Public Parking (5–10 Minute Walk)

    • Newport Gateway Transportation Center Parking

      • Large, reliable garage with the most availability

      • About a 10–15 minute walk to the harbor

    • Mary Street Parking Lot

      • Central location, often easier to find space

      • About a 5–8 minute walk

    • Touro Street Parking Lot

      • Smaller lot, ideal for shorter stays

      • Typically a 5–10 minute walk

    Street Parking (If You Get Lucky)

    • Metered parking is available throughout downtown Newport

    • Typically $1.50–$2.00/hour with time limits

    • Pay easily via the Passport Parking app (you can extend time remotely)

    A Few Helpful Tips

    • Summer weekends and evenings fill up quickly—arrive early when possible

    • If the closest lots are full, head straight to the Gateway Center to avoid circling

    • Allow 10–15 minutes total for parking and walking to the dock

    • When in doubt, anything near America’s Cup Avenue or Thames Street will put you within walking distance

  • We recommend:

    • Soft-soled shoes (or bare feet onboard)

    • Layers (it can be cooler on the water)

    • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and hats

  • Yes. Families are welcome. We ask that children are supervised at all times.

Special Occasions

  • Yes. We can assist with thoughtful touches such as florals, champagne service, and timing to create a seamless and memorable experience. Our crew members are happy to meet you at the dock before your sail to accommodate any special items, food, or beverages that need to be delivered to the boat before your sail (on the same day).

Policies

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of your sail window are eligible for a full refund. Partial refunds offered after that time window. Inclement weather cancellations are offered a full refund. Full details are provided at the time of booking.

  • Gratuity is not included but is always appreciated for our hardworking and dedicated crew.
